Pallet Inverter

Safetech Pallet Inverters are robust and proven in many environments. Users avoid double handling of product and reduce the risk of injury to workers by eliminating manual stacking and restacking of pallets.

Safetech pallet inverters are capable of handling widely varying load dimensions and weights of up to 2000kgs. Bi-directional rotation keeps cycle times to a minimum.

Pallet Inverters are used to rotate pallet loads when exchange of pallets or inversion of product is required.

Inverters eliminate the need for manual intervention, eliminate the injury risk and significantly increase cycle times and productivity.

How do Pallet Inverters work?
Pallet inverters have a fixed baseframe and a rotating frame incorporating a clamp mechanism. The clamp is hydraulically actuated while the rotation occurs through the large precision bearing and torque boosted electric drive motor. All functions of the inverter are controlled by touch pad controls and provide consistent, trouble free operation. The operator needs to press only one button to initiate a full cycle.
Applications
  • Food manufacturers can eliminate wooden pallets from the processing floor. Timber pallets can be swapped for "clean room" standard in-house plastic or steel pallet .
  • In automated storage and retrieval systems where pallets are routinely checked and defective pallet loads must be exchanged.
  • Export goods on rental or in-house pallets canbe transferred to another pallet (or slip sheet) suitable for export.
  • Pallet loads which need to be straightened and "squared up".
Options
  • Safety fencing to protect other personnel.
  • Remote control to minimise the need for the forklift driver to leave his seat.
  • Photo-eyes or Light curtain with interlock in addition to safety fencing.
  • Forklift bump edge.
Safety
  • Pallet inverters operate on automatic cycles and workers need to be protected fromcontact with the inverter as it rotates. Safety fences are essential, and interlock electronic photo eyes or curtains add extra security to workplaces.
Limitations
  • Pallet inverters are large and require dedicated floor space.
  • The pallet inversion cycle takes 20 – 35 seconds and this must be taken into account in high volume applications.
  • Pallet loads with irregular sides or tops may not invert well.
  • Generally inverters operate slowly and smoothly. If the load is placed correctly, there should be no movement during the cycle so even delicate items can be inverted with confidence. If there is a wide variety of product types to be inverted, some may still need to be transferred by hand. This is particularly the case where the packaging material is weak.
Best Buying
  • Product outside of the standard inverter opening dimensions will require modifications that add cost.
 

Pallet Dispenser-Side Entry

  • Pallet dispensers dispense individual pallets onto the floor. This allows an operator with a hand pallet truck to remove pallets from the stack as required eliminating the need for a forklift and driver to remove the pallets.
  • Safetech pallet dispensers have a capacity of 15 or 25 pallets. Our units are designed primarily for Chep pallets of 1170mm (46") square but other pallet sizes and types can be handled.
  • How do Pallet Dispensers work?

    Side Entry pallet dispensers incorporate a pair of telescoping tynes mounted onto the deck of a hydraulic table. The tynes project out to support and elevate the pallet stack. To dispense a pallet the tynes project into the second bottom pallet. The tynes then lift the stack, leaving the bottom pallet free to be removed. A wide range of pallet sizes can be handled without alteration to the machine. Loading and dispensing happen from the same side.

    When used with conveyors pallet stacks can be forked or conveyed into position and the individual pallets dispensed onto the conveyor.

    As stand alone units the side entry dispensers can accept a pallet stack placed on the floor and dispense individual pallets onto the floor. This means the pallet stack can be loaded and individual pallets removed using only a hand pallet truck
     Applications
    • In palletising lines using robotic palletisers. Most robots can pick their own pallets from a stack but this usually represents poor utilisation of the robot. It is better to have a separate pallet handling system and allow the robot to concentrate on the palletising task.
    • In fibreboard plants where bundles of cartons need to be Palletised. The pallet dispenser then supplies the pallets into the load former as required.
    • In stand-alone applications where a pallet is dispensed onto the floor. This makes individual pallets available to operators without the need for a forklift.
    Safety
    • Although Pallet dispensers are generally regarded as safe, there is potential for a stack to be tipped up from one side if it is not sitting in the correct place for the dispenser. Safeguards include additional position sensors and/or a fixed barrier.
    • Placarding of automatic equipment is essential.
    • Finally, as with other automatic equipment, operator and forklift driver training is important to minimise the risk of a mishap.
    Limitations
    • Although pallet dispensers can be used as stand-alone devices, they are more commonly integrated into an automatic palletising line. Other devices such as in-feed conveyor, out-feed conveyor and robotic palletisers (or load formers) are usually combined to make a complete palletising system. Our ability to integrate all of the various parts to work harmoniously is essential for such a system.
    • Poor quality or inconsistent pallets are a problem in any automated system. Forklift drivers need to be vigilant and remove bad pallets from the stack before they reach the dispenser.
    Best Buying
    • Prices vary with features but can be higher when integration with other equipment is involved. Most pallet types can be handled with existing designs so any re-engineering should be minimal.
 

Pallet Dispenser-Hook Tyne

Hook Tyne Pallet Dispensers

Hook tyne pallet dispenser incorporates four swing in hook tynes mounted to a hopper that raise and lower with the pallet stack. To dispense a pallet the tynes swing into the second bottom pallet and lift the stack, leaving the bottom pallet free to be removed. This design provides flexibility for pallet entry and exit points.

Hook tyne dispensers can accept a pallet stack placed on the floor from one side and dispense individual pallets onto the floor from the other side. The pallet stack or individual pallets can be loaded or unloaded with forklifts or hand pallet trucks.

This configuration allows the forklift and pedestrian work areas to be separated.
Applications
  • Palletising lines using robotic palletisers. Most robots can pick their own pallets from a stack but this can be inefficient.  A separate pallet handling system allows the robot to concentrate on the palletising task.
  • In fibreboard plants where bundles of cartons need to be Palletised. The operator with the assistance of a "load former" usually does this. The pallet dispenser then supplies the pallets into the load former as required.

Easy Wrapper Series 3

Easy Wrapper is an economical, entry level stretch wrapper designed for hard work. It is durable and priced to suit workplaces with light to moderate stretch wrapping needs. Like all stretch wrapper Easy Wrapper is effective at preventing back injury which is the most common workplace injuries (Worksafe Australia). It eliminates the dangerous and time-consuming practice of stretch wrapping by hand.

Easy Wrapper uses 240V and is easy to install. The galvanised base withstands corrosion and incorporates fork tyne sockets. The mast folds down for easy relocation.

Manual Easy Wrapper

These wrappers provide a motorised rotating turntable and a mast carriage carrying the film that is operated manually. Safetech's manual wrappers use a counter balanced carriage to make the manual raising and lowering of the mast easy. The operator simply guides the carriage up and down the mast to apply the film in any pattern.

Stretching the film with the aid of a mechanical tensioning device reduces film usage.

Semi Automatic Easy Wrapper

With the Semi Automatic Easy Wrapper the mast is powered and all manual effort is eliminated. The operator simply attaches the film and starts the wrap cycle with the push of a button. Multiple variable wrap patterns can be selected to enclose any kind of load with loads ranging up to 2.6 metres.

Film usage is decreased by the mechanical tensioning attachment and the Semi Auto Easy Wrapper is durable and designed for many years of efficient service.

Limitations

Lightweight product is difficult to wrap but can be accommodated if all circumstances are known.

A Forlift is necessary for placing and removing a load on the Easy wrapper. Any wrapper in excess of 30mm height is not ideally suited to hand pallet truck access. If hand pallet truck loading is required see our Lo Wrapper.

Lo Wrapper Series 3

Lo Wrapper provides the unique benefit of machine pallet wrapping that is easily accessible by a hand pallet truck because of the low 26mm turntable height. This allows an operator to use either a hand pallet truck or a fork lift to place and remove pallets from the wrapper when a fork lift is not suitable or available for the task.

Lo-Wrapper is priced to suit workplaces with light to moderate stretch wrapping needs. Lo-Wrapper is efficient and highly effective at preventing back strain and injury, which are the most common of all workplace injuries (Worksafe Australia), because it is designed to eliminate the dangerous and time consuming practice of stretch wrapping by hand.

Tape Wrapper

Safetech's automatic stretch tape wrapping system provides a real alternative to stretch film for high speed pallet wrapping. For many industries stretch tape has now become a preferred option for pallet stabilisation when compared with conventional stretch film.

The Safetech Lo-Wrapper is a low profile stretch tape wrapper which features a turntable height of only 26mm. This allows an operator to use either a hand pallet truck or a fork lift to place and remove pallets from the wrapper since a fork lift is not always readily available for this task, especially in smaller operations.

The Stretch Tape Easy Wrapper has a galvanised base to withstand corrosion and a large diameter chequerplate turntable with a capacity of 2000kg. The base incorporates fork tyne sockets and the mast folds down for easy relocation and transport. Because it operates using 240 volts, the Easy Wrapper is easily installed without the need for three-phase supply.     Palift Lite

    Palift Lite caters for the lighter 150-250kg weight range. It incorporates a single spring centrally located beneath a hinged spring cap, 1100mm turntable, built-in fork sockets in the base and durable hot dipped galvanised finish. Maximum 250kg loads.

    Palift Maxi for loads exceeding 2,000 kgs

    Palift Maxi caters for loads exceedingthe 2000kg SWL . It is suited to wider heavier loads such as bricks, timber, cement sheets etc. As with the standard palift it is available with a square top or 1100mm turntable, and has a durable hot dipped galvanised finish. 2500kg SWL is available.Used mainly with masonry or heavy timber products.

    How does Palift work?

    Pallet Levellers resemble scissor lift tables in appearance. They have a top deck and a base connected by a pair of scissor legs. The levelling mechanism is a set of springs and is set to the weight and height (the density) of the product. From then on the levellers work automatically and raise or lower as the weight changes. This load setting is a simple process and for most users springs never have to be changed. A shock absorber is used to prevent any bounce and all Australian Palifts are supplied with a standard galvanised finish.

    The Paldisc is unique to Safetech and provides rotation of up to 2 tonne and an ultra low turntable height of only 22mm – ideal for use with hand pallet trucks.

    Paldisc is ideal for loading with hand pallet trucks. It’s low height of only 22mm is the lowest of any turntable on the market yet it is rated to two tonnes and makes rotation of loads easy and safe.

    Palring is tough and won't bind or tighten under load.

     

    Roller Conveyor Systems

    ROTOCASTER
    The Rotocaster is an Australian designed and developed product which is injection moulded that produces a monolithic wheel structure with seamless rollers. It is constructed using exceptionally high strength and durable materials which rolls rather than swivels.
    Its 125mm diameter allows for smooth rolling and can be configered in groups depending on the load capacity required.
    It can come in a rubber or polyurethane option with steel or nylon bushes depending on the application.
     
    The design gives improved directional control and more precise positioning capabilities. With the capability of being able to handle a heavy load and still maintain movement stability.
    It only requires a fixed not a swivel mounting which privides mounting flexibility within or under equipment.
    As the unit has no painted or treated surface it gives a lower visible surface waer and tear.
