Coffin Handling
Coffin Handling Systems
Coffin Handling is an occupational health and safety issue that sometimes get ignored. Total Lifting Solutions has come up with some solution options to eliminate some of the issues associated with the moving of coffins.
Inserts for Vans
When transporting coffins around a handling system is needed so that at least four coffins can be transported without the problem of lifting a coffin to a second level in the rear of the transport van. A system has been designed that allows the upper level to be raised above the lower level use the battery system fitted to the vehicle. The system uses linear actuators to raise and lower the upper level into position. This system gives the unit a smooth and safe operation as the linear actuators drive the system in both directions.
The lower section is fitted with small polyurethane rollers which give the coffins a resistance free access to the vehicle and is fitted with an ajustable locking system to secure the coffins in place.
The system operates via a corded raise and lower control as well as a fixed button raise and lower control.
Mobile Coffin Lift
In conjunction with a leading funeral director a unit has been devised that enables coffins to be raised and lowered so that they can be placed in a van with fixed mulitple levels and also for storage of coffins prior to requirement.
The unit is a stand alone system with a narrow inbuilt scissor system which is battery powered and uses a low noise linear actuator to achieve the hieght required. A low height of 630mm to a full height of 1650mm gives great flexibility and precise placement as required. The scissor system lowers between the support frame so that the coffin can rest on rubber stoppers that stop the coffin from moving whilst in transit.
Mausoleum Transfer System
A transfer system that allows coffins to be placed into crypts with minimal force using either a powered transfer or manual transfer system.
The powered transfer system is fitted with a very low noise chain driven roller system that drives the coffin accross rollers fitted into the flat bed.
The mnaula system is fitted with 600mm wide rubber conveyor rollers that allow a person to roll a coffin into position.
